Emergency Technical Support for Legacy Systems

24-48 hour response for production system failures, critical bugs, and legacy system emergencies. Weekend and holiday support available.

It's Friday evening. Your production system is down. The error is in code that nobody on your team knows how to read. The developer who wrote it left three years ago. The last agency that touched it closed down. And every hour the system is down, your business is losing money.

This is what we do.

Our Emergency Response

We respond to legacy system emergencies within 24 to 48 hours, including weekends and public holidays. Our first action is rapid triage: we access the system, read the logs and the code, diagnose the root cause, and implement either a fix or a stable workaround to get you operational again.

We don't guess. We read the code, find the specific line that's failing, understand why, and fix it — or contain it until a proper fix can be written. Legacy systems fail in specific ways, and the diagnosis is almost always in the code if you know how to read it.

After the immediate crisis is resolved, we provide a written incident report: what failed, why it failed, what we did to fix it, and — critically — what needs to change to prevent it from failing the same way again.

What We Handle

Production system failures — The application is down, returning errors, or processing transactions incorrectly. We stabilize first, diagnose second, fix third.

Critical bug fixes — A bug in the production system is blocking business operations. Orders can't be processed, records can't be saved, reports can't be generated. We find it and fix it.

Performance collapse under load — The system is timing out, running slow, or failing under normal business load. This is almost always a database query problem in legacy systems — a missing index, an N+1 query, a missing connection pool. We identify it and fix it.

Data corruption — Records have been corrupted, duplicated, or deleted incorrectly. We assess the damage, recover what's recoverable, and identify the source of the corruption.

Weekend and holiday coverage — If your business runs seven days a week, your emergency support should too. We are available on weekends and public holidays for production emergencies.

Failed project rescue — Another vendor's migration or rewrite has gone wrong. The new system isn't working, the deadline has passed, and you need an independent expert to assess what's salvageable, what needs to be rebuilt, and how to get to a working state. This is some of the most complex work we do, and we're experienced at it.

Expert witness services — In some cases, legacy system failures or failed modernization projects end up in legal disputes. We provide expert witness services for technical disputes involving .NET, WebForms, FoxPro, Classic ASP, and related platforms.

The Real Risk Nobody Talks About

The biggest danger in a production emergency isn't the downtime itself — it's the fix that makes things worse. An inexperienced developer making changes to unfamiliar legacy code under time pressure is how a two-hour outage becomes a two-week crisis. We've seen it.

We approach emergency fixes conservatively. We make the smallest change that stops the bleeding. We test in a staging environment if one exists. We document exactly what we changed. We do not introduce new dependencies or refactor anything during an emergency engagement.

What Happens After the Emergency

Emergency engagements frequently reveal deeper systemic issues: undocumented systems, missing monitoring, no disaster recovery plan, no deployment process. Once the immediate crisis is resolved, we'll give you an honest assessment of the broader risk picture — not to sell you more work, but because you deserve to know what you're sitting on.

Many of our longest client relationships started with an emergency call. The emergency creates the context for a conversation about what the system actually needs. Whether that leads to further work is entirely your decision.

Investment

Emergency support engagements start at $5,000, which covers the initial response, triage, and fix. Complex situations or extended engagements are scoped based on actual time and complexity. We do not charge a premium for weekend or holiday responses.
